Getting a dog is a huge commitment that requires big life changes. But unfortunately, many people who get dogs simply don’t provide sufficient care and attention to their pet, which can have a serious affect on their development.
While our blog’s mascot is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, these tips apply for any breed.
One of the biggest aspects of caring for a dog that is neglected is taking for a walk. Some owners seem to have the idea that one quick walk a day is enough for a dog to be happy and healthy, but this simply isn’t sufficient. Would you be able to go for the toilet once every single day?
Another aspect that is rarely discussed is that dogs need regular walks for their emotional development too. Keeping a dog inside all day and away from other dogs can be very damaging to them. They need interaction with other dogs and with the outside world to grow properly; otherwise they will behave like spoiled brats.
