Best Dog-Friendly Restaurants in the USA

Whenever you feel like having a brunch, you don’t need to leave out your furry family member out of the activity. Many restaurants across the USA are dog-friendly and offer special, tasty menus where you and your dog can fill up your bellies.

While our blog’s mascot is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, these tips apply for any breed.

Lazy Dog Restaurant (California, Nevada, Texas, Colorado)

Lazy Dog has 19 locations on the west coast, with plans to expand even further, and every location includes a dog-frienidly patio where your pooch is welcome to relax. Just be sure to follow the rules: every dog must be leashed, no dogs allowed on tables, and make sure your pup is polite.

Shake Shack (locations nationwide)

Shake Shack offers a dog menu at every location in the U.S., so your dog can lounge in the outdoor dining area and enjoy a Pooch-ini (a tasty concoction of dog biscuits, peanut butter sauce and vanilla custard) or a simple bag of biscuits. For humans, there’s an assortment of incredible burgers, fries, and of course, shakes, making Shake Shack a popular choice for the whole family.

Ohso Brewery (Arizona)

O.H.S.O. is a restaurant, local nano-brewery, distillery, and dog-friendly social hot-spot. They have over 40+ beers on tap as well as wine and house cocktails.  Your pup will love their dog friendly patio and home made dog treats.

In and Out (California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Texas)

The Flying Dutchman, an item on the secret menu, simply contains two beef patties and two slices of cheese. While it is not officially a dog item, per se, rumor has it that it was created for people to feed their dogs at one of the original In-N-Out locations.

Starbucks (Nationwide)

One of the items on the Starbucks secret menu, the Puppuccino is a small cup filled with whipped cream for your pup, a.k.a. all things good in this world. Next time you get that grande non-fat chai latte, treat your pup to the puppuccino!

Joe’s Italian Ice (Philadelphia, Tempe, Arizona and Anaheim, California)

Whether you’re in the mood for Philly-style Italian ice, smooth and delicious soft serve ice-cream, or good old-fashioned, hand-scooped Dreyer’s, Joe’s has you covered!  Joe’s is very dog friendly and offers a free frozen treat for your dog each and every time!

Boris & Horton (New York)

Ever wanted to go grab a bite to eat with your dog? Well, now you can at Boris & Horton.

7 Mile House (San Francisco, California)

It’s a pawty every day at 7 Mile House! We’re happy to welcome furry customers to dine on the patio and select treats from our dog menu. The heated patio is a comfortable place for customers to bring their dogs out for a meal or drink.

Dog-friendly Travel in New Orleans (New Orleans, Louisiana)

New Orleans is extremely dog-friendly for residents and visitors alike with plenty of great parks, hotels, restaurants, and bars that accept dogs!

OB Brewery (San Diego, California)

OB Brewery offers three floors, with lots of room to spread out, plus a game floor, and they are dog friendly.  Has a nice large rooftop patio with expansive brewpub for house-brewed beer.  A burger patty from the menu is sure to delight any dog.

TRACE at The W (Austin, Texas)

Not only you can enjoy a great and tasty meal, but your dog can also have a doggie treat or ice-cream. The location of the restaurant is great and there are nearby dog-park and few hiking trails to spend all those calories.

Eli’s Table (Charleston, South Carolina)

In the area, Eli’s Table is the only place where a non-service dog can enjoy a decent meal. The restaurant prepares special steak tips and many other delicious dog dishes. Of course, fresh water is available at all times..

Precita Park Café (San Francisco, California)

The owners of the café love dogs, so they decided to make it dog-friendly. But they didn’t stop there. Dogs are served with tasty veggie treats and healthy doggie hamburgers and owners claim their dogs adore them.

Del Frisco’s Grille (New York, New York)

Every dog that leaves this place will get his own Del Frisco Frisbee which can be also used as a water bowl. The restaurant organizes program events offering homemade treats and dog-inspired cocktails to its visitors.

20 East (Chicago, Illinois)

Once annually the restaurant organizes dog fashion show and adoption events on National Dog Day, but it’s open for dogs throughout the whole year. Besides the food in the ‘doggie menu’, the furry visitors also get free treats and can relax on the huge patio made just for them.

Sally’s Fish House & Bar (San Diego, California)

Pupcakes, peanut butter cookies, and chicken and rice are one of the few things you can find in the dog menu at this restaurant. A couple of times per year the place hosts dog-friendly events with games and treats which are a great activity both for the owners and the pets.

Radiator (Washington, D.C.)

Radiator helps local shelters by organizing adoption nights where sheltered dogs have the chance to meet their new parents. Each national dog day is celebrated with cocktails inspired by dogs for the visitors and tasty treats for the furry customers.
